🚨 Google may already be testing its next Gemini Flash model

A mysterious new Flash checkpoint has reportedly appeared in blind testing:

• Spotted through LM Arena preference tests • Could be an updated Gemini 3.5 Flash checkpoint • Could be Gemini 3.6 Flash or Gemini 4 Flash • Early impressions suggest a quality improvement • Google appears to be collecting more side by side user feedback also • No official name, benchmarks or release date yet

I have also started seeing more “Which response is better?” comparisons while using Gemini 3.5 Flash.

That could mean Google is actively refining a new checkpoint through preference training, but it does not confirm a new model by itself.
